This Privacy Policy describes how Lotenix Technology LLC ("Glide", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the Glide platform, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website (glide-ride.com), Rider App, or Driver App (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, password.
- Driver information: date of birth, address, Social Security Number (collected only as required for background check; transmitted to Checkr and not retained in cleartext on our servers), driver's license, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, and a profile selfie used for identity verification.
- Payment information: payment card details, billing address, and payout details for drivers (handled by our payment processors Stripe and PayPal — we do not store full card numbers).
- Communications: chat messages and support tickets you send through the Service.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location data: precise GPS coordinates while you are using the Service (riders during a ride request and active trip; drivers while online).
- Device information: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash logs.
- Trip data: pickup and dropoff locations, route taken, fare, distance, duration, ratings, tips, tolls, and cancellation history.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Background check results from Checkr, Inc. (driver applicants only).
- Identity verification selfie comparison results.
- Payment authorization results from Stripe and PayPal.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Service: matching riders with drivers, calculating fares, processing payments, dispatching trips.
- To verify driver eligibility through background checks and identity verification.
- To maintain safety: detecting fraud, investigating incidents, supporting emergency responders.
- To communicate: sending receipts, ride updates, support responses, and (with your consent) promotional messages.
- To improve the Service: analyzing usage patterns and aggregate trip data.
- To comply with legal obligations: tax reporting, law enforcement requests with valid legal process, regulatory filings (e.g., Maryland Public Service Commission TNC reporting).
3. How We Share Information
3.1 Between Riders and Drivers
To facilitate a trip, riders see the driver's first name, photo, vehicle make/model/color/plate, rating, and live location during the ride. Drivers see the rider's first name, photo, rating, and pickup/dropoff. Phone numbers are masked through Twilio relay — neither party sees the other's real number. Last names, full addresses, and payment details are never shared between riders and drivers.
3.2 Service Providers
We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service:
- Checkr, Inc. — driver background screening
- Stripe, Inc. — rider payments and driver payouts
- PayPal Holdings, Inc. — alternative payment processing
- Twilio, Inc. — SMS notifications and masked phone relay
- Mapbox, Inc. and Google LLC — mapping, navigation, and traffic data
- MongoDB Atlas — encrypted database hosting
- DigitalOcean, LLC — application hosting
These vendors are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request) or when necessary to investigate fraud, protect safety, or enforce our Terms.
3.4 Business Transfers
If Lotenix Technology LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain trip records, ratings, and payment records for 7 years to comply with tax, legal, and dispute-resolution obligations. Account information is retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after deletion. Background check reports are retained per FCRA requirements.
5. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access control, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure; promptly notify us of any suspected unauthorized access at [email protected].
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Access, update, or delete your account information from the app settings.
- Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of promotional communications at any time.
- Disable location sharing through your device settings (note: this prevents you from using the Service).
California residents have additional rights described in our CCPA Notice.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will update this Policy as the Service evolves. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice 30 days before taking effect.
